From the adoptee perspective, it gives me validation about the questions I have in my mind and the feelings I have about my birthmother. Sadly, I didn't get to meet my birthmom, but I have some of her journals and poetry she wrote about me. Reading about her pregnancy is the greatest gift I could ask for. It confirms the connection we will always have. From the adoptive mom perspective, it prepares me in handling future conversations with my now 6 year old son. His birthmom has 4 other children and I know the question will come one day about why she kept them and not him. It is my hope that together she and I will give my son the confidence and comfort he needs in understanding his story. Thanks for sharing.
